the struggle of seeing the sun shine
has worn down on me more than i want to admit.
something as pure as a celestial glow
hides itself from my view to the point
where i can only see the shadows that lace the
darkest nights and the beings that corrupt it.
shifty eyes slide over me as i knock back another,
another game, another player. night takes its toll.
will i live to see the shelter of morning?
